What am I supposed to do?

1. You're supposed to complete your assignment.
2. This is a high-tech university! Your partially completed paper should be accessible from your local pc.

How do I use the pc?

1. First, you need to turn it on.
2. Use the student id number found in your game materials.
3. Use the password found in "Getting Around At G.U.E."
4. Use the HELP key on the pc if your still stuck.
5. See page 4 of your instruction manual for an example of how to log in.

I'm logged in, now what?

1. Use the mouse to select the appropriate options.
2. Try clicking the correct menu box for the editor and then for your paper.

That paper doesn't look familiar!

1. Indeed. It isn't. Your might wonder what happened to it.
2. It certainly seems ruined at the beginning. Maybe later pages are okay, though.
3. Keep reading more of the paper as it appears.

Now where am I? It doesn't look like G.U.E. Tech to me!

1. Probably just a bad dream. Wait it out.
2. Your can speed things up by going along with the crowd.
3. Go down.

I can't seem to get away from this place. I want to go home!

1. There are many unusual things here.
2. Wouldn't you like a souvenir of this trip?
3. The stone is the only portable thing around.

I'm home, but where's my paper?

1. The hacker seems wiling to check out your problem.
2. Wait for him to fin1sh looking at the situation.
3. Perhaps the Alchemy Department can help you.
4. Maybe it's still in one of their computers.
5. Go find the Alchemy Department.

The hacker isn't very friendly, is he?

1. Why should he be friendly?
2. All you've done so far is give him trouble.
3. Give him something other than trouble, for a change.
4. What does he seem interested in, other than hacking?
5. He's mentioned food occasionally, hasn't he?
6. Maybe he's hungry.
7. Give him some Chinese food.
8. He wasn't grateful? What state did you give it to him in? Think, now, it was in the fridge!
9. Think of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. How do you like YOUR food?
10. Your can heat food in a microwave.
11. You can tell how hot food is by touching it.
12. To be careful, calibrate the microwave oven using the Funny Bones.
13. Three or four minutes on HI cooks the food just right.
14. ...but it will cool off after a while, so don't dawdle!

What can the hacker help me with?

1. He's a proficient hacker.
2. He could probably write a program to write your term paper.
3. Hackers are often good at getting into things they aren't supposed to.
4. If you're going to be poking around, you might want some keys.
5. He'll only help you if you're nice to him. (He won't bite the hand that feeds him.)
6. Look carefully at the hacker's description.
7. Look at his keyring.
8. Ask him about his keyring; he seems awful proud of it.
9. Ask him for the master key. It ought to do the trick!
